AviosPoints is a Chrome extension designed to help users earn and track Avios reward points. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we collect.

The extension stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's storage API:
- Avios Balance: Your current Avios points balance (fetched from avios.com)
- User Preferences: Extension settings and preferences
- Country Detection: Your detected country (for showing relevant retail partners)
2.2 Data We Transmit
We only transmit data to the following services:
- avios.com: To fetch your Avios balance (when you are logged into avios.com)
- ipapi.co: To detect your country for showing relevant retail partners
3. How We Use Your Data
- Balance Display: To show your current Avios balance in the extension popup
- Country Detection: To display retail partners available in your region
- Retail Partner Matching: To identify when you're visiting a retail partner website
4. Data We DON'T Collect
We do NOT collect:
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone, etc.)
- Browsing history or browsing habits
- Purchase information or transaction details
- Account credentials or login information
- Any data for advertising purposes
- Any data for sale to third parties
5. Data Storage and Security
- All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure storage API
- We do not have our own servers or databases
- We do not have access to your stored data
- Data is never transmitted except to the services listed in Section 2.2

We use the following third-party services:
- avios.com: For fetching balance information (requires you to be logged into your Avios account)
- ipapi.co: For country detection (only sends your IP address, returns country code)

7. User Control
You have full control over your data:
- Delete Data: Clear extension data through Chrome Extensions settings
- Uninstall: Remove the extension completely to delete all associated data
8. Children's Privacy
Our extension is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this policy.
